Al-Nisa Welfare Society
A registered non-governmental organization based in Okara, Pakistan established in 2020 to support women, families and vulnerable groups. Our goal is not just providing assistance, but the skills and healthcare to make them stand on their own.
Al-Nisa Welfare Society began in Okara after seeing the challenges many families in the community were facing. Women needed opportunities to learn skills and earn, families struggled to access healthcare, and children needed better support to stay in school. These experiences shaped the areas Al-Nisa chose to focus on, including women's empowerment, family health, education, protection, and community awareness.
As the Society's work grew, so did its relationships with local institutions, educational organizations, health partners, and international organizations.Al-Nisa Welfare Society is registered with the Social Welfare Department, Government of Punjab, under registration number DOSW/WD&BM(OKA)004. Its work is also reflected in district-level records, where Al-Nisa is listed among local organizations working in health and education across Okara, including vocational and hospital-related services.
Real change doesn’t come from quick fixes. It happens when people have the skills, confidence, and support they need to build a better life for their families. That’s why we started Al-Nisa Welfare Society here in Okara. From the beginning, our goal has been simple: to help local women learn practical skills, support children in staying in school, and help families who are struggling get back on their feet. We try to do this with respect, honesty, and genuine care for the people around us. We couldn’t do this work without the trust of our community and the support of people like you. When you support Al-Nisa, you’re not just helping us carry out a program. You’re helping families become more independent and giving people the chance to build a better future for themselves. The Center for Human Rights Protection & Development is an initiative of Al-Nisa Welfare Society working in the areas of human rights, protection, community welfare, and development. Its work includes providing legal guidance, supporting women and children, helping people facing cyber-related challenges, and responding to social needs within the local community.
Al-Nisa works to make healthcare more accessible, protect vulnerable people, support women in building better opportunities, and work with local and international partners to meet the needs of our community
Al-Nisa pairs community outreach with expertise including MBBS doctors and volunteers. Al-Nisa coordinates directly with institutions such as the District Health Office and Okara Police Department whenever needed. Al-Nisa holds a zero-tolerance stance, against harassment, financial corruption and discrimination.
Our organizational profile records collaboration with UNICEF Pakistan on child-protection initiatives, The Asia Foundation on gender-based violence and public health, and the International Islamic University Islamabad on research-related social interventions — alongside work with the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Sub-Campus Depalpur, on poverty reduction and GBV training.

Okara is where Al-Nisa Welfare Society began, and it continues to be at the heart of our work. Being part of the local community helps us understand the challenges people face and focus our efforts where they are needed most. Our work is centered on practical support for people and families across Okara. The Society is also listed in the District Okara Disaster Management Plan 2025 among local NGOs working in health and education, including vocational and hospital services.
